I'd love to get my hands on a VCS3 SYNTHI - AKS. Just to toy with it.

Wrightkeys,

One of the things I've dreamed about (inspired by Mr. Wright's masterful playing of it) is to own a true Hammond organ someday...would this create the same kind of problems in trying to find it as some of these other instruments people have discussed?

Re: The Pink Floyd Keyboard Section (Revised)

Hmm...I'm kind of paranoid about buying things online. Would you say there are stores in most areas where I could find things like this? I realise I might incur a higher cost that way than going online, but for actually getting to SEE--even try the thing (I will make sure to ask)--beforehand, so I know what I'm getting into...that will be worth it for me.

Re: The Pink Floyd Keyboard Section (Revised)

you can buy a new hammond for cheap thats just as good if not better than the old one. as for old analogs, you should be able to try them out if you live near a big city, such as new york or london. some are waaaaaay overpriced though, because they are collectors items. blah.

like my beloved mini-moog.

Re: The Pink Floyd Keyboard Section (Revised)

How much of a difference is there between the analogue ones and the digitals? Since I am used to hearing the analogue version, I am rather curious. I tend to be very musically-sensitive...I can even be unnerved by subtle difference on a few occasions. So I'm wondering--would I lose any of the analogue's distinctive sound with the digital version/

Re: The Pink Floyd Keyboard Section (Revised)

in my opinion yes. you just can't recreate the fat sound of an analog synth. good thing about digital is you don't have to maintain your keyboard like cleaning and tuning and all that. rhiggatwat do you own a mini-moog. i would love to have one someday.
