Wrightkeys, you are making me jealous!!! I am an amateur keyboard player (I don't know HOW Mr. Wright...or any other musician, for that matter, performs in public--I would die from nerves!), and sometime, I would like to invest in a decent-quality synthesiser, and perhaps someday a Hammond setup like Mr. Wright's. But I want to keep costs to a minimum, so what synthesiser would be the most "bang for the buck"? I mean, what has the best sound and versatility, but I would not have to spend a massive amount on? (I'm on a tight budget, and especially with the Hammond in sight for the distant future, I don't want to break the bank with the other synthesiser!) FloydWaters...or as I am sometimes known in the chat room, FloydWRIGHT!

well i'm not wrightkeys but if you don't mind my opinion i would say a nord lead 2 or any kind of waldorf synth. but that is strictly synths. if you want a keyboard that makes all kinds of strings and brass and drum sounds then i don't know.

i use a korg triton (workstation/sampler)and an access virus (analog modeling)as well as a boss drum machine. i find that those are the only synths i could ever need. ive been eyeing a mini-moog for awhile though. maybe one day. i also play bass guitar. once you give the virus a listen youll never turn away.

I don't know if any of you guys possess a quadrophonic copy of DSOTM, but during "Us & Them", there's a little piano piece in the left hand channel that normally gets obscured by the sax on regular stereo copies. On this version, it's as clear as a bell and absolutely beautiful. It's pretty much the piece that Rick plays during the DSOTM sessions on "Live at Pompeii. FW, you'd dig it a lot. Cheers, Mark
