chords on Gilmour DVD

During Terrapin and also to some extent Shine On Dave uses these chords that I can't find in any book. They resemble a staircase in that the structure seems to be, for example, 007650,
with the first finger on the B, the "first step", and also alternating the 4th on the B and E at times. Does anyone know what these chords are? Are they for a particular tuning? Thanks

sounds like he's just doing the standard E shape bar chords but with his index finger barring the top two strings and his thumb holding down the bottom E. try it, it's jolly good fun. John Lennon plays in this style a lot too if you ever see any beatle's concerts.

As you've described it, (007650) he just playing A Major, letting the 1st 5th & 6th strings ring open. The 4th finger on the B string then makes it a A6 chord, and the 4th finger on the E string makes it an A9. Any other major chord in that (E) shape, and you have to barre the 1st 5th & 6th strings as Ian pointed out.
