| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd Quote:
Have you ever heard the original Bob Dylan's version of "All Along The Watchtower"? I have nothing against Bob Dylan, but Jimi Hendrix did this cover wonderfully and I bet most of the people know only Jimi's version. I don't like Limp Bizkit, their music says nothing to me. The cover was strange... bad. My most favourite Pink Floyd cover is a powerful version of Fearless by Fish. Has anyone heard it? |

| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd Didn't hear it, but sound horrible. I hate both of those guys, and for them to "cover" a great song like that is a travesty.

| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd I remember seeing the song being played on that memorial thing for 9/11... My god, I was so irate at it, i nearly threw my face into a belt sander. Seriously, they took the song completely out of context, and it was really really cheap and nasty. Not to mention the fact that i don't like Durst very much. In the sense that i'd very much like to insert an scolding iron into his smug little face. Idiot.

| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd I know nothing about Fish and I don't care. Are they really that bad HighHopes? Still, it's one of the best PF-covers I've heard, but the word "best" does not mean "comparable to original"!!!!! But it's at least interesting - (for normal people) rather unknown song from Meddle and some band plays it. ...the same thing like Langford/Kerr performing Seabirds, though it was not even released officially! So every time I hear a cover of them, I see how the Floyd are unique. |

| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd i can't see how a remake of such a fantastic song can be anywhere near good if they change it. Personally i'm not fan over any forms of cover songs, but, some are "ok". I mean, Jeff Buckley's Hallejulah is a great deal better than Leonard Cohens... john Cale's version is better to btw. and how a group like limp bizkit even comes up with the idea to remake WYWH is so unbelievable so that if i was a christian i would thought it devilish.

| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd what i do respect though, is bands making some songs a bit different live. not just replaying the album, ofcourse, some versions are bad, some are better. Like, i like the money version on DsoT. Pink floyd is an extremly good live band too though. i once heard a live version of Paranoide by Ozzy, which was much better than the album version. but, one band that is great a live perfomances like these is counting crows, he can blend lyrics and melodies, and the also make new verses to some of the songs. great going, i'm looking forward to seeing them this summer.

| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd Welcome Floydboy75! Didn't like the change of the lyrics. And this song was written for Barrett, not 11th september victims. What i mean is, the should have written a song just for those who died at 11th of september. That wold make it a better memorial song. (I think) Lars

| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd Some covers are pretty good, just not any cover done by fred durst. What fred durst is doing now is something many of today's bands do. They tie their name next to a real musician in an attempt to add to their small and dwindling fan base. Fred durst doesn't deserve to be a singer. He has about as much to say as deaf mute at a poltical convention. I agree with bubla's post. Jimi Hendrix's cover of "All along the watch tower" was far superior to the original. As for bands changing their own songs during a live show, I've never heard or seen it go wrong. I have a live version of Zeppelins "No Quarter and it's much longer and better than the original. |

| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd Speaking of Durst ripping people off: I overheard some "kids" (read: MTV-crazed teens) talking about that new "Limp Bizkit song called Behind Blue Eyes. It's awesome!" Apparently Durst "covered" Behind Blue Eyes by The Who and now all the kiddies think it's a limp bizkit song! That makes me want to explode.

| Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd Yeah that's really sickening. Stupid little kids with no taste in good music, idolizing Fred Durst furthermore and giving him credit for songs he didn't write. This generation wouldn't know a who song if it slapped them upside the head and said, "who are you." Someone should hire an assassin to end Fred Dursts meaningless life (bit extreme, but it sounds good doesn't it?). |
