Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd

i am pissed about people not knowing about The Who and celebrating Fred Durst, but i can't fault anyone for ignorance. I'm ignorant in a lot of things, including music. All in all, though I do not like Fred's music, he probably is doing more than I ever will in my entire life. Kind of like John Mayer, I may rag on him because I don't like his music, but admittedly, he is a far superior singer, songwriter and guitar player than I am at this point, so I have no place to criticize him.

I don't think you have to be a superior artist to critically assess the artistic ability of someone.

I was just stating that it wouldn't make sense for me to criticize his ability when i have far less. criticizing his music i could pehaps get away with.

Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd

If you're going to cover a song, at least do a decent job on it, unlike Limp Biskit's lame "buskers version" of Behind Blue Eyes. I cringe every time I hear that song. As for them covering Floyd, I'm going to remain open minded until I hear it: but I bet it blows.

Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd

It blows alright. The only current band i know who do really good covers is Mushroomhead. Coincidentally - they did Empty Spaces a dew years ago, and it was awesome. The guitar solo is almost inaudible in the original, but Mushroomhead have do it at a much better volume.

Re: Limp Bizkit sings Floyd

The LB cover of "behind blue eyes" sucked major balls. They took out the guitar solo and did htis little thing where a computer says "L.....I.........M.........P............."whil e fred sings "ay, ay, ay, ay" and there's this little turntable thing. Despicable.
