I was the same way with the wall for the LONGEST time.... I grew to appreciate it, but I still find the live "Is There Anybody Out There" version to be much more intense. After I realized what the Wall was really about, I listened to it a few more times and began to love it.... just not as much yet as I love Animals and Final Cut. I am with ya on that one there.

I heard the first half of the wall, thought it was too short and inconsequential, listened to the second half (which is pure rubbish). I hated it, and traded it.

Well, there are great songs on both sides of the Wall, but like I said, there are just too many damn songs! Pink Floyd should have taken the really good songs and put them on an album of around 45 minutes, like they usually did----->I guess Roger had quite a bit to say.

How can you call yourself pink floyd fans, the wall is a masterpiece song for song. If you can't sit down and enjoy the wall, you need re-think perception of Pink Floyd.

How long is the Wall? I think both albums clock in at about an hour and a half, total. Don't get me wrong, some of the songs on this album are among my favorites(The Thin Ice, One Of My Turns, Is There Anybody Out There, Run Like Hell, and of course Comfortably Numb) I enjoy listening to some of the album, but as a whole it seems to struggle a bit. I also like how the album is basically a view into the mind of Roger Waters: some of it is sad, part of it is angry, and some of it is demented. But I can say without any doubt, that I am a REAL Floyd fan.

| The album is 81 minutes long... just over the 1-disc limit (unless you have an overburn CD-writer). Quote:

When did I say I was a fan of Roger's solo work? No, I don't remember. Anyway, I could debate this for hours, but it's pointless. Some people love it, some like it, and some despise it. But there are some aspects I can appreciate. David Gilmour as a solo artist: pointless Rick Wright as a solo artist: pointless Syd Barrett as a solo artist: pointless Nick Mason as a solo artist: pointless Roger Waters as a solo artist: pointless Pink Floyd as a single band: amazing

You see the little box that says "originally posted by Lumiere"? I was talking to him, not you. Oh, and do you know how many Floyd members play musical instruments on your precious "Two Suns in the Sunset?" One. Roger.

Hey Botley! Looks like I made a new friend, huh? Yeah, Yeah, I know Mason was cut from that track, and there is no reason why Waters couldn't play the guitar. And Wright, well, I think we all know what happened to him.

No need to fight, children. I personally like the Wall a whole lot, I listen to it all the time. I like that idea of it telling a story rather than a whole bunch of unrelated songs thrown together. I think most albums should be like that. But hey, that's just IMO.

Well, there was a time period of about three weeks when all I listened to was the Wall. Maybe it's my own fault because I probably burned myself out on it. Next month, I may be into it again. My tastes change quite frequently. The Wall, however, IS a great album, and it IS a work of art. It's just, that at the moment, I'm not really into it.

I always question the "true" Floyd fans who only have Momentary Lapse and Division Bell in their collection... and when they're asked about The Wall, they say shit like "Don't like it." Worse blasphemy is the ones who say they've never heard of Dark Side Of The Moon. Now that is a joke.
