Jamming Fat Old Sun

I got my hands on a recording of Fat Old Sun live at the BBC and I must say this is some crazy shit! Floyd jams out the tune for little over 14 minutes. Has anyone else got this version?

It's awesome. It's a perfect example that if the Floyd were having a good night, they could knock any band off the stage - and they were apparently having a great night when they recorded that version. Rick just cooks on the organ, which is kinda rare, I've never heard him do another organ solo.

Where did you get yours?? I've been looking around for it. Amazon seems to always be out of them.

That's because it's illegal to sell bootlegs.

Amazon does occasionally list bogus stuff though.

Re: Jamming Fat Old Sun

There's actual several ROIOs that feature that version of Fat Old Sun. Definitely one of my favs. I believe it was recorded for the BBC in the summer of 1970. Also called John Peel's "Sunday Concert" I think. The ROIO that I have is "Mooed Music". Definitely a classic if you can find it.

Re: Jamming Fat Old Sun

TUYSAW was one I forgot, that's a great solo.

I guess I *mentally* meant to say 'I can't remember any more solos on the Hammond organ'. 'Cause the Piper stuff is all played on a Farfisa combo.
