| Re: Before Dogs and Sheep Does anyone know where I can hear the "You Gotta Be Crazy" and "Raving and Drooling" versions of Dogs and Sheep? Are they all that different or are we talking about minor lyrical changes? I'd be very interested to find out more about these two tracks.

| Re: Before Dogs and Sheep Personally, I find "Raving and Drooling" quite drastically different, and MUCH more enjoyable than "Sheep". It is musically much stronger and more distinctive than "Sheep". I don't know about "You've Gotta Be Crazy"; I haven't heard it. I might suggest you try searching for these songs on Morpheus, if you are interested in MP3's.

| Re: Before Dogs and Sheep "you gotta be crazy" has some major lyrical changes but the music is pretty much the same. he says shit like twice though which is odd.

| Re: Before Dogs and Sheep Oh, but "Gotta Be Crazy" changed considerably from 1974-75. Listen to the Wembley Pool Show of Nov. 16, 1974 and Boston Garden show of June 18, 1975; the 1974 version is a different beast indeed. Dave is playing acoustic and switches to electric midway! As for "Raving and Drooling" it is much heavier in 1974; someone hits a gong after the verse "raving and drooling I fell on his neck with a scream." Very heavy and creepy, indeed! The 1975 Raving is much more subdued, but Rick goes off on his Moog. -Echorec |

I found an ROIO of a '75 show with both songs on it, but the audio quality wasn't that great so I couldn't hear the lyrical differences on "You've Gotta Be Crazy," but "Raving and Drooling" is actually quite heavier like you said. I would have actually preferred this arrangement over the one that eventually became "Sheep." I would imagine that since both of them were only performed and recorded live that there aren't that many good recordings of them. But any Floyd fan who really likes Animals should check these songs out. I think they're worth looking for.
