In my opinion, playing (acoustic). If you mean strumming the chords..

yeah I meant strumming chords vs. plucking/bending/wailing, pedaling/ on strings.

I think that Wish You Were Here is easy. I'm not saying that I can play it, cause I can't. It's just the first melody, then the acoustic melody that plays throughout the rest of the song. To get it, go to www.pinkfloydchat.com and click on the TABS link.

Re: just started on guitar, help

I find the tabs on this site are difficult to read. The chords are written as a group at the beginning of each line not over the words where they change. www.mxtabs.net has some very good PF tabs.

Re: just started on guitar, help

The guy who started this thread probably meant the new Starcaster. It's a basic Strat copy. Not bad guitars at all.

My friend said he bought a Starcaster from a pawn shop for $50, and I almost burst a blood vessel. I thought he bought an old one for cheap. Turned out to be a charming beginner's guitar.

Re: just started on guitar, help

So yeah, Im trying to work on playing acoustic guitar but I find it hard to get motivation to play because I suck and know nothing. Is there a decent website that can help me out with learning chords and stuff or anyone here have some advice?

thanks

Re: just started on guitar, help

You can find a lot of guitar lesson sites on google.
I just looked at this one which looks promising:
http://www.guitarlessonworld.com/

About the only advice is...practice. A lot.

Unfortunately, that's not what most people want to hear.

Good luck!

Re: just started on guitar, help

Most pink floyd songs aren't particularly difficult. It's really a matter of milking each note for everything it's worth.

Re: just started on guitar, help

Agree with Wish You Were Here... really easy chords for a beginner and also if you wanted to go further with it, you can always learn the beginning solo, which isn't hard but still fun to play.
Oh, and also Speak To Me/Breathe is good to play on either acoustic or electric.
You can find good tabs for that one pretty much anywhere though-- it's just so easy to play. Good luck (:
