Re: Help Please

So that would be about 664 Euros, which ain't bad -- new Gibson LP Studios go for about $1200. (996 Euros+ or -)

Questions 2 and 3 are up to you, woodsie. Good luck!

Re: Help Please

1) been answered

2)+3) completely up to you, it's down to what guitars you like to play, what sounds you like etc. Personally I'd keep the Epi Les Paul. You seem to like Les Pauls and the Epi isn't going to be much worse than the Gibson, maybe even better if you replace the pickups or something. I'd say there are lots of people on this forum who'll tell you to buy a strat, mainly because of the dave gilmour thing but make sure it's what you definitely want, try some out in the music shops.

Back to me, I'd personally just upgrade my epi if it really needed it and buy a fantabulous and generally brilliant amp with a few decent effects pedals. Then you've got a great rig ready to go.

Good luck

Re: Help Please

If you're doing a recording session chances are the studio will have enough gizmos to make even an ibanez sound good (no offence to ibanez owners).

Fitting new pickups is a great idea, it'll make your epi sound almost exactly the same as the gibson, which is more than good enough for recording. Make sure you try all the amps in the shop before you buy though, different amps sound better with different guitars..

But don't worry about your gear too much. If you get a nice, big and new amp which sounds great you will only be a couple of electro-harmonix pedals away from a great rig. You seriously don't need any more than an epiphone to sound great in any situation..

And more luck...
