Richard Thompson

Anyone else on here like or listen Richard Thompson? I just picked up his new CD "Old Kit Bag". It's great!

His style is quite unique and he has a flavor all his own, but I like his stuff. Anyone else a Thompson fan?

Re: Richard Thompson

The only RT song I know is Dimming Of The Day, from Dave's DVD obviously. It's really a wonderful song and I wonder if the rest of his production is at the same level.

Re: Richard Thompson

I was vaguely aware of him until the "David Gimour in Concert" DVD came out.
I was in Lyon at the time when It came out. So I bought it.
When I came home, I bought it again.
"The Dimming of the Day" blew me away! I really liked the way Mr. Gilmour played it. Since, I've been trying to find a tab so I could get it down better than I have.
Thought I'd find it here in the tabs section, but nope.
I hope someone soon posts it.

I've been a fan of Mr. Thompsons since.

Re: Richard Thompson

I've been a big Richard Thompson fan since the Fairport Convention days. I also have Old kit bag, and it is excellent. I was fortunate enough to see Richard in concert, supporting Manfred Mann's Earth Band, of all bands, and he played a blinding set, with some of the best guitar work I've seen.
