Cool.

This made me chuckle, imagining "Mr. Funny" writing comedy:

Said Waters of the planned Broadway show, "Now I can write in some laughs, notable by their absence in the movie."

The Wall on Broadway.....I can't imagine it! I'm almost afraid to hear Another Brick In the Wall II show-tune style!
And when I imagine incorporating other Floyd songs into the musical, I can only imagine something from the Final Cut.

I saw a Queen musical called "We Will Rock You" at the Dominion Theatre in London last summer. I love Queen but the musical was SO CHEESY. I fear the Wall musical will be equally cheesy.

Wow, so it's really true, huh. 'The Wall' as a theatrical production. get ready to buy your copy of 'The Wall:Live on Broadway" on DVD!!!

At least Roger Waters will finally be able to tell the story of 'The Wall' in HIS words. I remember watching the interviews on 'The Wall' DVD and seeing Roger saying something about there not being any "laughs" in the movie; laughs??? Isn't the album depressing as hell? I also remember that he didn't particularly like Alan Parker's version of The Wall, and if I remember right, Roger wasn't too fond of Mr. Bob Geldolf. Although Roger and Gerald Scarfe seemed to get along quite well. Maybe Gerry is involved in the Broadway project.

I'm not into broadway produtions, but this one will be interesting.

I think it will be cheesy too! But, it's still good fun cause it's live. I don't think it'll be as bad as PF in concert. I probably should't say this, PF and a lot of other bands sound Horrible (to me) live, this would be because they are what I call a studio band. Each and ever band that's worth a shiit, has, to a varing degree, a certain amount of this quality, the more they are a studio band the more difficult it is to reproduce their sound live. I have many friends who suscribed to this, and I have talked extensively about it, often we simply called it a Phoenomenon. In '77 some friends of mine were talking about the concert in Montreal '76 (we were at an outside kegger) . One of guys there heard us and said "Dude I was at that f'in show and it sucked, but not like you think", we said huh? He said "Yeah, it's real simple, they can't reproduce the sound cause they're a studio band, this will always happen, it's not like it's associated with just some bands, to a certain degree all bands are under this influence". I remembered this and got thinking, could this explain some of Roger's behavior. He may have been totally oblivous to this, and actually thought PF could reproduce their fantastic sound. Maybe I'm too much of an audiophile, according to the US navy I have perfect hearing, so if Rog and the band mentally 'set themself's up for this' by not knowing this effect (if it even exists) then it would seem to me they had no hope of EVER sounding good in a large venue, and to a certain extent it's not their's or any other band's fault, it's simply something that occurs no matter what, like physic's, it just is. RUSH sucks in concert, too, but like I said I'm real picky about my music, it HAS to sound like the cd, I think most poeple go along with the atmospere and say thing's like 'man they were great' then hear it on a recording and go, HUH, that sucks. METALLICA and a few others (to my knowledge) are bands that sound exactly like their albums, they would be on the opposite end of the 'studio band scale' and sound great in concert. This has been kick'in around in my head for years and years, sorry if I offended anyone.

Yeah, ever heard the live album 'All The World's A Stage'??

This record makes me vomit into my wastebasket.

The sound of Geddy Lee's voice makes me dry-heave.

the basic subject matter is unquestionably depressing, but I've always found the wall humorous. Me and the guy who first leant me the wall used to be in delirium recounting the lyrics to The Happiest Days of Our Lives, and the dialogue from the scottish teacher in the album. Its great stuff!

I dunno, everytime I hear 'The Wall', the last thing I want to do is laugh and smile about. No, No, I'd much rather huddle up under the blankets in my bed and cry.

Why would yo go to a concert to basically hear the album? Why not stay at home, put a few of the artist's albums on 'random', turn it up, and have few people prance about the room with instruments? It would save you money, for one.

I've been to four, three at Earl's Court and one at Maine Rd, Manchester (Man City's old football stadium), the sound quality was pristine at them all!
