Yes, those are nice lyrics, I think. I would just like to know where I can find an MP3 instead of the poor-quality RealAudio file I used to have.

Re: I KNEW IT!!! Rick Wright Solo!!!

WOOOO-HOO!

Further proof of Mr. Wright's solo effort, from launch.com in case anybody missed it:

"Once more, we are told that "the members of Pink Floyd--including keyboardist Richard Wright--are currently working on their own projects, with no plans to reunite in the wake of Echoes' success."

YAAAAY!!!

Now if I can just get him to do a few little gigs? Just a couple? PLE-E-E-EASE?

You know, I met Rick once a few years ago.
Very nice guy, and may I say he has aged very gracefully. I met him Jul, 15 1994 in
Pontiac, Michigan before a show.

Eugenesaxe--

How on Earth did you manage that? You are very lucky!

What you say, both about how gracefully he has aged, and about his demeanour, matches well with what I've heard.

WOOOO-HOOO!

Now it's in the New York Times!!!

I'm starting to become a believer!

Oh, I REALLY hope all of this is true. And though it's probably too much to hope, I wish he would do a few shows once he releases his new album!

And eug'axe--could you say more on your meeting with Mr. Wright???

Re: I KNEW IT!!! Rick Wright Solo!!!

Well, I was real nervous so I really didn't say much. I didn't ask for his autograph because I just don't do that. I prefer a handshake, it's more personal. I told him it was bullshit what Roger put him through. He said thanks. I told him that I really enjoyed watching him on the Delicate sounds of thunder video. Especially the way he was dancing around on some of the songs(ie, One Slip). I said that it was good seeing him having a good time. He said that it was a very relaxed atmosphere, very loose. And that he had a very good time.

Re: I KNEW IT!!! Rick Wright Solo!!!

That's very interesting, eug'axe, what you say about preferring a handshake. I thought I was a freak for thinking the same thing. When you cannot meet face to face, an autograph is really neat. But when you've got the chance to meet someone, you're right about the handshake. It's immediate and warm.

Human beings actually REQUIRE the touch of others in order to keep a healthy spirit. It's been scientifically proven.

I've always had this "dream" about getting to shake his hand and speak to him in person. Some people have a certain "presence" that makes you feel at ease, like you don't have to worry that you're always being sized up for one reason or another. I get this feeling from reading interviews and seeing photographs of him.

Interesting how you mention DSoT, and how animated he was. I saw something similar in PULSE (well, the clips I've managed to download from Morpheus, anyway). Some people say that he isn't very animated at all in that video...but there's a way his eyes come alive when he gets into the music. I can watch him and tell he loves the music. I saw it in him even more strongly than in any of the other band members.

He seems like an all-around great guy, IMO.

And yours too, of course.

I'm afraid that last part doesn't make sense...

BTW, currently there is really no news on any potential solo album. There's a rumour that Mr. Wright and Mr. Mason have started a new studio--Britannia Row 2--but otherwise there's nothing. It wouldn't surprise me, though...having a bunch of media/fan pressure to do something would be like having a bunch of eyes over your shoulder all the time. Blech. I can definitely understand why, if he IS working on one, he might not want to talk about it until close to release.

What a very, very nice avatar, Cluster One.
And what a nice signature, too (not to mention the quote under the username... I'll never be able to remember how's it called)!

Re: I KNEW IT!!! Rick Wright Solo!!!

Thanks for sorting that out, BoaB.

I really don't understand why I have a hard time, sometimes, getting people's meanings. I don't do it to be rude.

Actually, I wasn't thinking anything sick. Sometimes I just get lost on a particular statement; I don't know why.
