Roger Waters does not like interviewers who have stupid questions (like "Is The Wall personal?" or "Is SOYCD about Syd?") or those who want him to repeat the things he kept saying for years. I've read lots of his full interviews and one can tell that on some of them, he was really desperate or even angry about the questions. For example, the Suddetdeutscher Zeitung, June or July 2003

Q: Is there any possibility that you and David Gilmour will record again?
A: You know what, I don't like him.

The whole interview was very funny, part of it translated to English is at www.brain-damage.co.uk

Actually in 1992 in an interview for the Washington Post (which you can read at Brain Damage) Roger acknowledeged Rick as "the other major influence" on Dark Side (while labeling Dave's contribution as "very slight"). They had some strong personality clash but Rog never denied Rick's talent.

That is very interesting, given that at the time he was promoting ATD he was still often very, very vindictive in his words. But personally, I think some things speak louder than words. At the time of Dark Side, yes, I think he valued Mr. Wright's talent. As for on other albums after that...I am not so sure if he remembered that.
