It's also the same studio where Elton John did 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' and (I believe, coulda been another French house) where the Stones did 'Exile on Main Street'.

And Duran Duran recorded there too, but no-one seems to care about that.

You're right. Elton also gave it the nickname "Honky Chateau" by naming his first #1 album that! Pity how that kind of endorsement worked so well for Abbey Road Studio's fortunes but not the (by all reports just as nice) Chateau...

I envy Trident Studios, too bad they didn't exist too long. Bowie, Elton John, the Beatles (group and solo), and too many others recorded there. Imagine their studio piano... (drools)

I just finished reading a biography of Bowie, at one point he visits the old Trident building, presses the buzzer...
"Hi... did this used to be Trident studios a long time ago?"
"Indeed it did, long ago."
"My name's David Bowie and I used to record here, mind if I come inside?"

Yeah, maybe this is why there is such an incredible energy on this album. Didn't they do the same thing with 'Meddle', I mean, recorded it in like a week but at Abbey Road.

I noticed on Pink's latter records, 'The Wall', 'Final Cut', & 'Division Bell', they recorded the albums over such a long period of time, in sooo many different studios. I am not too fond of this idea of recording albums, but they seem to sound all right.

Imagine, if the Floyd Crew locked themselves into Abbey Road for a month and came out with 'The Wall'.

Bot: I think we might own the same book. I always liked that little moment of nostalgia.
Now... where's that studio piano...

AITW: I think Meddle took a couple months, but I can see where the Floyd might have sustained a mindset for that long, especially if they were at an ultra-creative peak, which they were, of course. (As evidenced by the ultimate LP trilogy of Meddle, OBC, and Dark Side).

They started work on Echoes at Abbey Road in January, worked on it in fits and starts between tours until May, then finished the album in July and August at Morgan and AIR studios. The record company made them put out Relics to fill out the interim (more than a year passed between the release of Atom Heart Mother and Meddle).

"Loving the Alien"? I thought it was alright, needed a better editor though.
