Good wah pedals

Any musicians out there have a suggestion for a good wah pedal? I do play guitar a little bit, but I'd like to use it mainly for my keyboard. I'm looking for a really responsive wah with a wide sweep range, with little or no distortion, either.

Re: Good wah pedals

Sounds like the Original Cry-Baby would do the trick..

BTW...I'm moving this to the Jam Room.

Re: Good wah pedals

Cry-Babys are good but they're more guitar orientated. Also they work manually so you have to change the pot a lot.

I'd suggest something by Morley. They work through optical shiznit and are generally groovy. You can get models which are also volume pedals which are very useful and effective with keyboards.

But does it sound any good through optical shiznit?

Does to my ear...

It's basically the same sound but through a different manner, it doesn't affect the overall tone as much as you'd think it does...

Re: Good wah pedals

They're all just as good for keyboards, morley, dunlop and vox. The point is is that the morley uses better technology which does not need constant attention in terms of changing pots etc.

Sorry, I seem to be getting a little passionate about this, I'll be quiet now and just let you decide...

Re: Good wah pedals

Optical = no moving parts, therefore you don't have to replace it nearly as often. It's pretty simple.

Well I've got one, my friend's got one....

They explain stuff like this in the shop whilst trying to sell you stuff. I know the people in the shops so they're not trying to con me, it genuinly does have optical stuff.

But go for whichever one you want.

Re: Good wah pedals

I found that cry babys don't have enough range to get funky with on a keyboard, I'm still searching.....

Re: Good wah pedals

the Jim Dunlop GCB-95 (Crybaby), the new one, has the worst sweep range.

With some modding it can sound like an older one. But i would suggest a Vox Wah for a wide sweep range. Ive heard they kill tone though.
