If only there was more footage of syd from his floyd days, he'd probably not be so much of a mythical character now, people trying to capture his image like the loch ness monster.
Fortunately by what I've heard Syd still retains a great sense of humour and laughs off all these Barrett hunters, hopefully if Syd keeps doing what he does, casual painting, spot of d.i.y and the occasional walk people keen to exploit him might eventually realise he's just a boring middle aged man, who probably buys dvd's and cds on ebay now and then and has the odd pint at the local.

i think its wrong alone that they just keep bugging rogers. he just wants to be left alone! let the man live. people that are "syd fans" and they do stuff like thsi, really aren't syd fans. they're stalkers, or guys just trying to make a profit. and its wrong.

interesting place, my first time here. I downloaded the Syd "stalker" video from KaZZa last year. I agree it is sad that people still stalk him but i still watched it and have sent it to people i know. Why ? because im a Barrett fan, and like most Barrett fans, im left wanting more. And unless someone comes up with the mythical Third album tapes than stuff like this will continue to interest people who just cant get enough of the poor mans music,
I repect your opinion and agree that it must be upsetting for his family but to tell people not to buy it will only make people curious..oh well, thats my five cents worth..!

The "Crazy Diamond" boxed set is an excellent source of Barrett material, one of the finest pieces on my collection, I must say. It includes his solo works "Barrett", "the Madcap Laughs" and "Opel", all remastered and with several outtakes from those albums (19, in total), a true gem for Barrett fans, like myself.
