Picnic Tables

Hey guys. Alright, here's the thing. At lunch, we eat outside on plain wooden picnic tables. My art teacher assigned each of her students a band, person, or painter to research on. After the essays are completed we are to design a rough draft for the picnic table using the information, pictures, symbols, and quotes of the band. Next, we are to paint them. My assigned band is the Beatles. I've never really listened to them so everything is new to me. (I asked for Pink Floyd but didn't get them) I promised I used the search engine .. but I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas they wanted to throw at me. I'm open for anything, but I was leaning towards doing maybe a bright colored guitar on the top of the table with quotes around the edges. I'm not very creative so I really need your help! Any ideas?

Thanks,
Brock

Why don't you just have an old hound dog rest his head on the table all the time...

(Reference to Eric Clapton's "There's One in Every Crowd" album cover).

But it has to represent something Beatles related.

You could try a Yellow Submarine theme for it. That, or you could try and re-create the cover of Abbey Road. Some ones people would recognize easily.

though it is a bit in depth...you could do the cover of the Anthology. kind of a collage of their entire career.

I think you definately should paint the table to look like the Yellow Submarine:

A classic, simple design, and it just screams "Beatles" to children young and old

Is it physically possible not to have listened to much beatle's stuff....?

anyway, yeah, I'd say use yellow submarine stuff with the cartoon beatles and random monsters. If you can get hold of the film at your local library or whatever, watch it for inspiration.

Blue Meanies!

You could also just put all the sweets mentioned in Savoy Truffle on the picnic table and sets of dentures in the seating places in place of people, photograph it from above and tell 'em to consider their statement on the health of British dentistry at the time.

Title: Yes, you'll have to have them ALL pulled out.
