| Re: Guitar World Article 2 Today while glancing on the newstand, the new issue of Guitar World caught my eye, as the cover story is "The Complete Pink Floyd - New Album Previewed & Ancient Secrets Revealed". The article talks about the new best of, and then goes through the Pink Floyd career album by album and talks about them with quotes by Gilmour, Waters, and some others interspersed in between. Also, there's a section where there are some interviews with Gilmour, Waters, Parsons, Ezrin, and Torry on how some of the tracks were done. Something interesting to note is Clare Torry saying "If I'd known then what I know now, I would have done something about organizing copyright or publishing. I would be a wealthy woman right now. The session fee in 1973 was (pound symbol)15, but as it was a Sunday I charged a double fee of (pound symbol)30 - which I invested wisely, of course." Also, they have the music for Wish You Were Here tabbed for guitar and bass. A recommended purchase for those who can buy it. I don't know if it is available on the other side of the Atlantic though, so... |

| Re: Guitar World Article 2 I think I've mentioned it before, but Clare Torry, as a session musician earned (as correctly stated) a flat fee of £30.00. It wasn't until the late '80's when "The Great Gig..." was used in a Nurofen advert that she actually received any royalties. As for the money issue, Roger has said a few times that it was on the Floyd's insistence that she receive double the normal fee, having been so impressed with her contribution. Cheers, Mark

| Re: Guitar World Article 2 That's interesting, that somehow the two stories sound SO different...I wonder which one is true?
