| I have allready done a search on meanings, and i couldnt find what i was looking for. I have a few questions about the movie. During goodbye blue sky, what does the whole animation mean? Also, the flower part, were they kind of mold together, what does that represent? And one more, another brick in the wall part 2, what is the deal with that? why are the kids faces like that? Im sorry if this has been covered, but i coulndt find it, so if u could make it easier on me and just help me out it would be great! |

| Re: Wall ???'s During goodbye blue sky, what does the whole animation mean? It's about world war 2. Also, the flower part, were they kind of mold together, what does that represent? Love - its naive, beautiful beginning and its bitter end. another brick in the wall part 2, what is the deal with that? why are the kids faces like that? The children are faceless - it's not personal, and it can happen to all children. Of course I may be completely wrong.

Ah, remeber, this movie is partly Alan Parker's & Gerry Scarfe's vision, as well as Roger's. The whole album, the movie, it all has many interpretations, we just have to find our own. The Wall isn't just about some boy who lost his daddy in the war, or has a failed marraige, and isolates himself from the world -- I mean that's the story Roger is telling, but we can all relate to parts of it in our own lives.

Indeed. And regarding the Another Brick in the Wall part 2 sequence, I believe part of the message is to think for yourself. Interpret things on your own. Not everything is black and white. Don't be molded into a particular thought pattern. Likewise, don't let the fine folks here do all the thinking for you |

| Re: Wall ???'s I remember seeing The Wall twice at the theater when it first came out, trying to "get it". The night after my second viewing I saw Roger Ebert review it, saying it had a storyline even a houseplant could understand. I felt stupid, mainly because I still didn't "get it". In retrospect I probably did understand what was meant to be understood. Some of it , I believe, was meant to be abstract. At least that's what I tell myself... |
