I thought Party Sevens* were great. Due to the size of them you needed to connect 2 drinking straws together to reach the bottom of the can. I do remember that they were before the advent of ringpulls, and you needed something to pierce two holes in the top with. I used a screwdriver on one occasion, only to find that my mates had vigorously shaken the can. The result was that the kitchen was awash with beer. Luckily it was a student flat and nobody seemed to notice. Someone said it added 'character' to the place.

* For the benefit of people who are wondering what a Watneys Party Seven was, it was a rather large can supposedly holding the equivalent to seven cans of beer.
