Transition and a Journey

Today I was listening to "Meddle" and I realized that I love the transition from "One of these Days" to "A Pillow of Winds", Its beautiful, but its so Floyd. Reminds me of the transition from The Beatles' "Back in the USSR" to "Dear Prudence", I love those two songs. Also Wanted to say that I bought Bootleg Pf cd called "A Journey Through Time and Space". Its a double disc, disc one is all zabriskie point outakes, and disc two is 8 song live disc--

1.Interstellar overdrive (1966)
2.Set the Controls for the Heart of The Sun (1969)
3.Green is the colour (1969)
4.Careful with that Axe, Eugene (1969)
5.Theme from "More" (1970)
6.Obscured by Clouds/When Your'e In (1973)
7.Childhood's End (1972)
8.Brain Damage/Eclipse (1974)

The studio disc is excellent, but the live disc was a little dissapointing, OBC had pretty bad quality, and Brain Damage permantly skips like it was burnt wrong!! But Interstellar is Incredible.

Agreed! It reminds me of the transition between a nightmare and a fantasy (see my sort-of dissertation on Meddle). Like it's just on the boundary between dream and reality.

I must say, it's far better to have complete live shows than compilations.

The more and more I listen to the "Zabriskie" disc, I realize that it is some of the best Pink Floyd material I've ever heard, I love "Red Queen", "Crumbling Land" is an awesome Floyd Folk song, and "The Violence Sequence" is pure beauty. "Rain in the Country" is also an incredible Floyd Jam.

"Red Queen?" How long is that track? It's probably mislabelled.

I've been looking on Amazon for that CD for a while, and it doesn't list Red Queen.

Well, its not really "Zabriskie" it's some of it plus rare outake tracks such as "Red Queen" which is not mislabled. The song features all original lyrics about a red queen and a white king. Length- 5:45, there is also a track called "The Red Queen Theme" which is basically the same except they don't sing the lyrics, they hum and "do" along to the music.

What you've got there is actually called "Country Song" on the official 2-disc deluxe CD released by Rhino Records.
