The Dumbest Musical Lawsuits of All Time One of my picks would be the time John Fogerty was sued for "PLAGIARIZING HIMSELF." Back in '85 or '86 he got sued because his old record company said his Number 1 single "The Old Man Down the Road" was a musical knock-off of a song he'd made with CCR, "Run Through the Jungle." Fogerty even had to play the song in court I believe. Even *if* "Old Man" borrowed from "Jungle," BOTH OF THEM ARE STILL FOGERTY's SONGS! I understand, record company's rights to songs, contracts, all that other hooey, but this was just nonsense.

Yeah, that Fogarty one is a hoot. He refused to sing his old CCR stuff for many years because for so doing, he had to pay royalties to the record Co., which really pissed him off. Another silly one. John Kay, founder of Steppenwolf, sues ex-Steppenwolf bassist Nick St. Nicholas for billing himself as the ex-bassist for Steppenwolf.

The choir kids who were in ABITW (2) sued PF years after it was recorded because they never got royalties.

I'd never heard about that. All I knew was that Roger gave each of the kids a copy of The Wall. Generous bastard! Although, according to Nick Schaffner, PF gave the school itself a lot of money.

I think the case that occured a year or so ago (I'm not sure on the date, but it wasn't too long ago) between Creed and Chicago concert goers: they were sued because they gave what those suing claimed was a "sloppy performance." I believe they demanded full reimbursement for the tickets. Hillarious, if you ask me...

George Harrison gets sued for plagiarising "He's So Fine" in the form of "My Sweet Lord." Fifteen years of jaw-dropping ridiculousness ensues...

The current Dead Kennedy's suing frontman Jello Biafra for not paying them royalties,( most of their albums are on Alternative Tenticles, which is Jello's label) when in fact all they wanted were the rights to his songs so they could release the back cataloge.

The Dumbest Musical Lawsuits of All Time Andy Scott and Sweet don`t look very happy in those pictures where they are dressed up like indians. Co - Co is their worst song. And that`s all because of making money for their greedy managers. Last edited by parrymason; 09-01-2004 at 12:35 PM.

That's "dumbest lawsuit," not "dumbest costume."
