Which songs of PF you can say you really dislike ? Mine are : Take Up Thy Stetoscope... Corporal Clegg Pigs On The Wing (both parts) Welcome To The Machine Don't Leave Me Now (except of Dave's "oooohs" in the end) Bring The Boys Back Home The Trial almost all on The Final Cut The New Machine (this is fine track actually but it is out of place on MLOR) i didn't take anything off More and Obscured..., they are full of instrumentals and they are soundtracks, so... Your opinions, fellow Floydians ? Which songs you skip while listening ?

Quite a lot of Piper, studio LP of Ummagumma, most of Saucerful, 2/3rds of Atom Heart, OOTD, San Tropez and Seamus from Meddle, Absolutely Curtains from Obscured, 8/10ths of More, Money, some of WYWH, 3/5ths of The Wall, most of Final Cut, everything except High Hopes since then. Do I win £5?

I don't skip any songs, I love and embrace all Pink Floyd like a lover. None shall take my love for Pink Floyd away from me.

Ever since I heard "Raving and Drooling", I have found "Sheep" very difficult to listen to.

i dont understand why fixxlevy hates one of these days, its the best pink floyd song of all time, its so simple yet so bloody fantastic and breath taking that i cant help but love it, the slide quiter was absolute genius, and how dave gilour is palying the bass at he star, and how there are 2 bass's being played, oh my god im so excited i think i will go listen to it, by the wat the only floyd song i can even think of hating is mother, but i have no real reason for that so u should probably forget about it also i cant believe this topic was brought up, it makes me wonder, theres a feeling i get...... woops stairway, sorry everyone got confused _________________ I love instrumentals, they define a band

Funny you mention Ummagumma. That "Grand Vizier" bit I simply cannot listen to. That is a disaster and a half! Everything else about Ummagumma, even if it is not the best work, I can at least find SOMETHING positive about it. But "Grand Vizier"? YUCK. That is the only Floyd song I cannot stand. Now, ITF--I am definitely using the skip button a lot on that album. But this wasn't a question about solo albums, was it?

Although this is nearly blasphemus, I just can't listen to Set The Controls. It's so slow it puts me to sleep ever time. If I'm concentrating on something else I can have it in the background, but that's really not listening to it. Like b17 I hate mother for no good reason... maybe because I think it goes on too long. I won't hear the first 1/3 of Psychedelic Breakfast, but the rest is OK. Grand Vizier? Well, Nick's solo work is a taste that requires much time to aquire. Money is just such an easy target for dislike, but I couldn't think of anything better to put in that middle slot of DSOTM. Then again, I love Thy Stethoscope and Corporal Clegg, so what do I know?

I love "Stethoscope" too. Just watch out if you hear it coming out the windows of the car behind you! You may want to pull over until the maniac has passed! Other songs that give me a real "need for speed": "Blue Light" "Lucifer Sam" Radiohead's "National Anthem" and "Idioteque" Now, back on subject. Can anyone characterise for me Mr. Mason's solo work in objective terms? I am seriously considering giving it a listen sometime.

I like Grand Vizier's Garden Party, along with most of Ummagumma. I don't really like Grantchester Meadows, Take Up They Stethoscope, most of More, some of Obscured by Clouds, Bring The Boys Back Home, Don't Leave Me Now, and a couple other things. I enjoy most Pink Floyd songs though.

Oh yes and I forgot about Ummagumma solo CD myself. well, not to bring anyone down, the only thing on that CD I actually listen to is Narrow Way (sometimes all three parts, sometimes only third part). Plus, Grantchester Meadows is quite OK (live versions preferred though). Everything else on that CD - I just don't GET ! Maybe one day...

Like Dave Gilmour has said, most of the stuff before DSOTM is rubbish. Meddle, of course, is an exception. But besides that, it's more like one song on each pre-DSOTM album that I would listen to, as opposed to one song that I would skip. Having uttered those terrible words, I don't think there are any songs after DSOTM that I would use the skip button on (unless I was looking for a favourite).

Driven, as I see in your signature, you are yet another person liking Dave's solo stuff ;0) Nice to meet you. Could you please then name those pre-DSOTM songs that you like ?
