Cheating can sometimes make your guitar damn proud of herself.

I have a hot rod red, white pickguard, maple fretboard USA Strat. Barebones, no upgrades or fancy parts, just all original. My buddy bought a Fat Strat Deluxe with a aged pearl pickguard, seymour duncan humbucker, vintage noiseless single coils, locking tuners, LSR roller nut, various other "upgrades." He left her at my house for a few days to see if I would buy her (he was tired of playing guitar). I had her and mine sitting on stands side by side for days, wearing them out--trying to make my decision. When all was said and done, no amount of silicone and make-up in the world could make me want that "suped" up guitar more than my all natural beauty. I sent the beverly hills whore back to her disheartened husband, and my girl had never been more proud of herself!

My first guitar was an absolutely horrible Strat knock-off made by a no-name importer. It wouldn't stay in tune for longer than a few minutes of play, the pickups made an awful noise, and the bottom two strings (later even the third) buzzed like nobody's business no matter what I did. I had an equally shitty amplifier, both rented for a year as a Christmas present. I could only get a halfway decent sound out of it by playing completely clean (with the dullest and quietest pickup setting) in open tuning, or just by distorting it to hell and doing the whole "I can't play this guitar but I'm a showman at heart" thing with pick scrapes and weird noises.

A few friends have been letting me play their guitars just so I can record a few song ideas, is that rape?
