I've been searching for a while now...has the official Pink FLoyd Website been established yet? I've found plenty of fans, but this Echoes contest that Hollywood And Vine is putting on for the Echoes Street Team suggests that there is an official site...any suggestions? OH, and as for the MP3 comments, they help out us buggers that don't have the money in our coffers to buy cds, let alone food on a daily basis. I'll buy when I have the money, until then I will grab the mp3s. I don't feel badly about it, as I have all the Pink FLoyd on cassette. I've paid my dues on cd as well. I get irritated when the industry constantly changes formats. i.e., 8-tracks/records to tapes to cds to Minidiscs to MP3s to DVDs...I'm sorry, but I can't justify buying the same music in every format that is released, especially when I have it already on an outdated format.

The record industry should be obsolete. Bands only need a promotion agency for live gigs once they get big enough, and there are plenty of independent production houses that will produce cds and merchandise without a royalty contract, only a flat fee. The record industry in a shining example of the Machine, my friends...a capitalist-born nightmare. Ah, but I digress. Music should be free, I'll still buy a record/cd for a lyrics insert, a poster, cool band pics, etc. So don't knock MP3 sharing as evil, I've seen too much evidence to show that it introduces many bands to people who would not have the money to go out and buy the album, let alone get to the record store. There are far too many other important things in life besides buying the latest cd releases.

Ah, I didn't mean this to be a rant Anyway, if anyone knows of info regarding an official Floyd site or not, let me know please...I read an online article from '98 stating that it was in the works, yet haven't found anything...e-mail me at proper_dickshun@hotmail.com.

Been there already...thought it might be it, but is there anything else besides the flash intro? I waited and clicked around for a while to no avail earlier today...

Yes, there's much more to that site, it just doesn't work for slacker bitches who advocate mp3s as a replacement for traditonal albums and such.

The music industry has only really gone through two formats, vinyl and the compact disc. Eight-tracks and cassettes were meant to serve a different purpose (portability for both and recordability for the cassette). Mini-discs are a proprietary format of Sony's meant to serve the same purpose as the audio cassette. Now there are SACDs and DVD Audio, but they're for audiophiles. Vinyl and CDs are still great formats, too, so hopefully no one will be getting rid of their collections of either even if there were a new industry standard.
