Re: Peter Gabriel DVD

Within the last four posts there have been Peter Gabriel song titles couched in each response.... Guess you have to be into PG's work to catch them.

Starting at the beginning we had

Stratman: Shock The Monkey
Fulghum: Biko
One of my turns: Secret World
Fulghum: Downside Up

sorry if there was any confusion..

BUT YOU KNEW THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Peter Gabriel DVD

Well, I did it. I went out of town and got it (along with a Dream Theater dvd, and some Floyd shirts that were on sale). And I watched it tonight....wow! Simply amazing! I'm not sure if it's possible to accuratly describe how truely wonderful this dvd is. I loved every minute of it. Of all the tons of concert dvds I own, this one moves to the top.

Hey Fulghum...what was your favorite part/song?

Re: Peter Gabriel DVD

If you liked it you should make sure to check out the "Secret World" DVD that came out not to long ago as well. It's a great DVD too! Even better than the Growing Up DVD, in my opinion.

Re: Peter Gabriel DVD

Ooh really? Yeah, I've seen it around too, but opted for this one, since I really liked "Up" and thought hearing those songs performed would be cool (which it was).

Re: Peter Gabriel DVD

Fulghum seemed a bit angry before. Maybe he should go on the Barry Williams show to work out his problems...

Re: Peter Gabriel DVD

No.. not angry.. just busy... and ducking falling objects from space..

One of My Turns.... I've always liked Digging in The Dirt.. and Peter did not dissapoint ... that one ranks right up there.. The whole thing is a great production though.. I'd be hard pressed to pick one particular fave moment.. Althought I did like the bike ride during Solsbury Hill... Barry Williams Show was great.. The Downside Up bit was very cool..

Re: Peter Gabriel DVD

I went to the concert and my favorite part was when he got into that big bubble. That was kind of cool, in a funny sort-of way. It's not the same watching it on DVD.

Re: Peter Gabriel DVD

i borrowed the dvd from my buddy, and i think my favorite part was signal to noise. that was my favorite song on up and it was so much more rockin' on the dvd.

Ya know i think peter still has a really good voice, i was surprised that he didn't try for his high notes in sledgehammer. instead he just threw his arms around while the light jacket did all the crazy shit. but the dvd is quite amazing. was it just me or was his daughter lip synching in darkness? she was moving her mouth for the sound on beat 4 of every other measure in the verse thats like gabriels voice all processed and what not, but it didn't sound any different from the studio recording, and she moved the mic away from her mouth quite quickly when she was doing it.

Re: Peter Gabriel DVD

Yeah I really liked Signal To Noise too...probably my favorite track off of Up too. But I think I've come to the conclusion Digging in the Dirt and Growing Up were the best parts....well, In Your Eyes was good too...dammit, it was all good!
