For those who haven't picked it up yet, Floyd is the cover feature on the December issue of Guitar World. The article basically provides an overview of the band's history with comments from Roger,Dave, Rick, and Nick. It actually acts as a decent companion to the "Echoes: Best of" release as it contains the kind of info that might have been included had they decided to include liner notes in the sleeve design. I think GW will issue a book for Pink Floyd similiar to the ones they currently have out for Stevie Ray Vaughn, Metallica, and Van Halen. If so that would definately be the next Floyd item to get on my list. Does anyone know of any good Floyd books?

Hey, thank you for letting me know about this! I think I'll get it. As for "Echoes", I'm still not sure yet, but I might well get it.

I got the Guitar World mag the other day. It's not too awful bad. But most of us here have heard it all before. There is really nothing new in it. Except the talk about "Echoes:The Best of Pink Floyd". But, none the less it is nice to see them on the cover again.

Any new pictures of the Floydians in that article, by any chance? I like to draw, so I often find this of interest.

As I recall, most of, if not all, are pictures from late 60s and early 70s.

Speaking of new floyd stuff, anyone know where I can get a high quality version of that video that most recently was on Hollywood and Vine, the one that had that awesome Arnold Layne vid (the dummy scene, I loved that so much it was halarious).

Floydwaters, I looked at the magazine again and there is a fairly new picture of Floydian. It's Syd Barrett, outside his home in Cambridge. I believe it's from a couple years ago. He looks pretty scared. And insane.

"Which Ones Pink?" by Phil Rose.

This book is an anylitical breakdown of the five concept albums by Roger Waters and Pink Floyd.(dsotm, wish, animals, wall, final cut)

It's very in depth! At the back of the book, there is an interview between Phil Rose and Roger Waters.

Well, I just read this article. I noticed an interesting point about the keyboard sound--they characterised it as Middle Eastern. Interesting, I've always been attracted to Middle Eastern music, even before I got to know PF's music. Could that be a partial explanation for why I enjoy it so much???

I thought that was a pretty neat connection to make.

i got this mag and the poster made me mad. i couldn't see rick anywhere in the poster. maybe he is just hard to see but it seems like it would make sense to have the whole band in the pic.
