I don't think you can rightfully compare the two. They are virtually two different songs.

Very true. It would've been cool to see The Travel Section on the DSOTM album.

I think On the Run works best the way it is (on the album at least). The Travel Sequence starts off quite exciting, but just meanders and then trails off. OtR keeps up a level of mysteriousness and then simmers along as if in a tense pursuit, until it reaches a screaming climax!

nope, I'd say the opposite. The album version is boring from beginning to end with that awful electronic rhythm. I prefer to hear the Floyd play. The concert version progresses from calm to very fierce in the middle part when M. starts to beat the drums more intensly and G. and W. start to pull the strings to rupture. Then it goes calm again.

I like both. But OTR does work with the theme of the album much better than The Travel Section.
