Never disrespected it Did I?

can't say I've ever heard BM's version all the way through....but the actual anthem always gets me going.

Well it's some rare footage.....

I gotta give some props to the solo in Freebird on Lynyrd Skynyrd's One More From the Road CD. Just makes ya want to get drunk and rowdy.

that's a good solo.

I like Jumping at Shadows from Fleetwood Mac Live at the Boston Tea Party Vol. 1. It just gets me every time. Peter Green man Peter Green. The man had soul.

Lindsay Buckingham is no slouch either.. The Live version of "I'm So Afraid" from their release ~The Dance~ is just effing unbelieveable.

not greatest, "favorite live solos of all-time"

I'm not going to say these are the greatest live solos of all-time, but they're a couple of my favorite thus far (after about 1500 live shows--- on cdr that is).

Earl Slick (of David Bowie) performing his rendition of the "Moonage Daydream" solo in LA 9-5-74 (soundboard). I'm a huge Mick Ronson fan but on at least one night, the Earl Of Slick was every bit as good, maybe better.

James Patrick Page, performing "Achilles Last Stand", Zurich 6-29-80 (soundboard). This is my favorite live performance of my favorite studio solo. Some say Jimmy was sloppy from '77-'80 (maybe true) but this particular live rendition spits on those claims. I'm not going to get into my favorite live "Stairway" or "D & C" solos, I don't have all day......& last I checked, this was a PF site.

favourite live Floyd solo:
Dogs has my favorite studio solo, Dave's playing in that song has brought me to tears on more than one occasion--- so I'm going with his solo from Oakland 5-9-77 (audience) as that's the best boot version I've heard of the song, so far.

Re: Greatest live solo of all time???

I've heard that a few times, but I can't really get into it.

A lot of it goes through me.

I like the acoustics on the beginning of Dogs though.
