I never saw the real thing but still wouldn't be caught dead attending a cover band.

Re: Australian Pink Floyd Show

I can understand it if you're into a band and you've got absolutely no chance of seeing them, like all these kids who keep moaning about Floyd "owing" them one last tour, but even so, any tribute band is going to be shite compared to the real thing, no matter how good they seem to be.

Re: Australian Pink Floyd Show

Anyone ever been to "The Machine"? Heard they're pretty good as well, I'm going to see them this month, and I'd want to know what I could expect. Anyone? :P

You couldn't be more wrong, you cynical curmudgeon, lol. The show in Los Angeles Friday night was spectacular, and I'm saying that as someone who has seen the "real deal" numerous times, starting with DSOTM back in 1974.

And TAPFS don't "seem to be " good. They ARE good. They are obviously as in love with this music as I am, and have worked their behinds off putting together this show. Guess DG's endosrement isn't good enough for ya, eh?

;^)

Re: Australian Pink Floyd Show

I just registered to win tickets to their show in Montreal. I missed The Machine when they were in Burlington, so hopefully I can catch these guys.

I would say that 'cynical old curmudgeon' would be a closer assessment of the old goat!

Frankly, I couldn't be bothered to go see the real thing, today - it's not the same.
