Kinda hard to tell. Meddle has the great and famous epic Echoes, which makes the album a must in all Pink Floyd collections, and One of These Days is also one of their best songs. Unfortunately, I feel that Meddle also has some weaker, less memorable songs like A Pillow of Winds and Fearless. I just don't listen to those songs a whole lot. Though considering how "arena rock-ish" they were starting to get around Wish You Were Here, I'd say go for Meddle.

Get WYWH. All nine parts of Shine On are without equal in the Floyd catalog. Echoes or not.

Hmmmmm, tough choice, really. Do you go with their first great album in Meddle, or do you go with one of their masterpices, Wish You Were Here?? Eiter of those should be fine -- I prefer the studio albums as a whole, and I think those would be alright.

But, after you listen to those two, buy PULSE, even if you don't like the post-Waters Floyd. It still has "Shine On", "Astronomy Domine", and all of Dark Side of the Moon.

Eventually I'll end up getting all of them, but I don't have all the money in the world. I'm leaning towards Pulse, because I haven't heard anything live from Pink Floyd and heard it was really good. Another side of me says I slould buy WYWH because I heard it over at friends house and loved it. As for Meddle, I might buy that because of "Echoes"and I've never heard it.

Just making sure. I didn't want to jump the gun. They are masterpieces, aren't they -- as well as all of Floyd's albums.

let me put it this way: they were not in a top form...dave said that once himself...

if you want to hear them live, it;s better: is there anybody out there (--> wall) and LIVE IN POMPEII and there are numeruous other ..electric factory? thats pretty good (i just pointed the most famous you can find)

Thats a really strange selection of albums, I tend to rate studio higher then live as live are just new (if sometimes better) versions of the studio stuff so that puts Pulse last even though it is a great album. WYWH or Meddle, well it's gotta be WYWH 5 fantastic track and to my mind no flaws, Seamus and Feraless really let Meddle down.
