Re: Rachel Fury

Ahoy!

sry... just establishing my bona fides... i was surfing last night looking for more info... i may have dredged something up.

It was inferred in this thread that Rachel did some backing vocal work on Trevor Horn's Buggles song Video Killed the Radio Star. that was... what? 1979 or 80? Anyway... I ended up on a Yes fan forum board last night and this is the snippet I found:

**

Let's start with the 'house band', supporting most acts. This varied
somewhat through the night, but was generally Trevor Horn (bass), Anne
Dudley (1st keys), Geoff Downes (2nd keys), 3rd keys player (possibly
Jamie Muhoberac???), Steve Lipson (electric guitar), Pete Robinson
(drums), Alan White (drums, obviously), Lol Creme (acoustic guitar),
Phil Palmer (acoustic guitar, backing vocals), Bruce Woolley (backing
vocals), Tessa Niles (backing vocals), Rachel Fury (??? backing
vocals), two other women on backing vocals -- one of whom ...

**

here's the link to the site containing the reference. If, when you land there, you get treated as i did, you'll end up at the bottom of the page. just scroll up to the first post and read.

Link: http://www.yesfans.com/forum/showthread.php?p=378614

So... I says to myself, "SELF?? what else can we search." i looks up at the title of the post and sees something else. so I scanned on the following:

"Produced by Trevor Horn, a Concert for the Prince's Trust"

Toss that string at google and see what you get.

The post snippet above, read in its' entirety, leads one to surmise our beloved minx is active as of 2004 as a background vocalist. or am i just full of so much fecal matter?

The google search on the trevor horn string above revealed an interesting DVD offering at amazon.com. alas, this is not a company i will ever do business with again, but there are other alternatives.

In closing: I am now in search of a copy of the concert dvd titled: Produced by Trevor Horn, a Concert for the Prince's Trust, and/or the cd version of this show.

Re: Rachel Fury

Being particularly bored at work, I took Cosmo's info and did some Google searching for myself.

I found a lot of references to the concert DVD (it's available through quite a few sources by all indications), but nothing mentions who the back-up singers were. The best I could find was info saying there were six backing vocalists (two were named...RF wasn't one of them).

No idea if aforementioned 'minx' actually performed at that show.

From what i read on the yesfan site, particularly the fact this was an after concert review from a fan who attended, i'm thinking s/he culled the name from the list of credits in a programme.

Trying now to get that verified.

Well, I couldn't find the link to the Rachel pics, but I did come across this:

I thought I read somewhere that she actually didn't perform at that show, but don't quote me on it. I can't even remember what site I read it on.

Anyways, let us know if you come up with anything.
