Are you a music snob?

Well, I realized this on my own the other day: I am a music snob, of sorts. I try to respect others' tastes, but sometimes I can't help it.

The other day, my musically deprived friend kept going on about Disturbed (barf). I tried to keep my mouth shut, but I couldn't help it when he starting saying how tallented they truely are. I said "Cmon, if you really want to listen to some real metal, listen to Tool or Dream Theater. Disturbed sucks." Beyond this, I've been quoted saying I have an amazing taste in music.

So where do you stand?

I believe my friends feel that I have the most unusual taste in music. I turned all my friends onto King Crimson, Jethro Tull and Frank Zappa, as a result of my interest in them (and the fact that it's really hard for me to keep my mouth shut about good "unknown" music, too)
And in the nature of a music snob, I must say that Tool stinks, and you need to listen to Hawkwind.

Absolutely. And my mixtapes are a constant source of shock and bewilderment to my fellow humans.

If someone wants to listen to crap music, I figure, go ahead and let 'em.

Now if someone starts raving about crap music, then I decide to give 'em a reality check and let know that what they're listening to is shit...

Great philosophy. I don't care either. All I can do is telling them that Pink Floyd are better than their trash. Tha's all.

I'm a music snob. If someone listens to crap, I'll tell them. This girl who is one of my best friends, whom I talk to every night on the phone, tells me that her favorite band is the Goo Goo Dolls. What!?!??!! That's not even a real band!!!!!!!!

I'm all for 'Like whatever you like', and I rarely have a serious reaction when a friend of mine likes a band that I don't.

On the other hand, I'm crazy about whatever I like, and I try to push the oddest stuff onto people that probably wouldn't like it.

Damned right I'm a music snob. And a film one, too. Nothing wrong with it in the slightest.

I have a werid taste. I like some of the new alternative stuff and of course some classic rock but I also love classic jazz and blues and some world music like celtic, south african and reggae. I can get into 20's and swing and jugbands, I love Memphis Jug Band. I don't know if that is considered a snob, but very openminded, but I will be honest, there are some rock groups that really disturb me, like Slip Knot and Insane Clown Posse, I don't get it! don't want to
