Roger Waters on Radio Here in NYC

Well last week Roger did a live one hour interview on Q104.3 here in NYC. He spent most of the hour slagging Bush and campaigning for Kerry. I guess for someone who now lives in the Hamptons on Long Island, he can afford to be more worried about American politics than his career... altho he did make a statement about the Wall coming to Broadway (that he wouldn't be playing any parts in it cause they'd prefer someone better looking) and a statement about releasing the Wall concert footage on DVD... but then he went back to dissing Bush and using his two new songs as campaign slogans....

Its not that I disagree with him, I just hate it when people try to use their fame to sway public opinion.... its almost like propaganda.

That's interesting that he was on the radio and stuff. It is stupid that he talked about politics most of the time. Is he a musician or politian? I mean, get your point across. People want to hear Roger--the brilliant man of PF and they want him to talk about stuff that is music related. Not about Bush or Kerry. If you want that, you'll turn on NPR or some TV station.

Considering The Final Cut, Radio Kaos, and Amused to Death all directly revolved around and directly focused on Water's political views, what can you expect? It's in the man's blood, in his lyrics, in his music.

Don't get surprised at that.

As you can notice yourself, most of the rich-famous-not-working people (by "work" I mean having to get up and being busy for some hours every single day) enjoy spending some of their (abundant) spare time by talking about politics (of course, without contradictors) and stating they are lefties (of course, it's politically correct). I wonder why they don't "run for president" instead of going on making plenty of money.

The richer, the leftier.

I hate it when people diss bush, or kerry for that matter. It's pointless, immature, and annoying.

Is Roger staying in America permanently? If not then I'm not so certain why he is so worked up over our elections.

Roger should use his free time for much better causes. The election is important, but there are more important things out there that could use a celebrity like him to speak out.

When I saw this thread, I thoguht perhaps some ingenius fellow had thought about taping and making available his interview. Instead its more talk about politics.

As Botley said, keep it in the Dark Side.
