Re: Pow R. Toc H.

I think it means smoking drugs ( like a powerfull toke). i think they had to spell it funny so that it wouldnt be controvercial. i read this in a book that i own that acurately focuses on the early pf days. (its called A saucerful of secrets) go out and buy it.

btw if you think PowerTocH is dumb... i can only laugh at you.

Re: Pow R. Toc H.

Its the only Pink Floyd song that has an a cappela section, and being Pink Floyd, had to do really experimentally, to make a really cool song.

Re: Pow R. Toc H.

What is CWTAE?

Ignore, ignore, I got it now, I was trying to find an album to fit the acronym.

Re: Pow R. Toc H.

The title is virtually meaningless; a nonsense phrase made up by Roger because it sounded good phoenetically when shouted into the mike at gigs. "Toc H" was signaller's code for Talbot House army signallers' club, a serviceman's billet, behind the Allied lines in Flanders during the First World War. At "Toc H" rank was ignored and officers and privates alike were on a first name basis, as equals. It later became a charity, the name applied to the "interdenominal Christian fellowship" referred to in previous posts. Looking for an accompanying phrase that was similarly arcane, Waters hit upon the "power" pun, "Pow R", for no other reason than it sounded right and was a syballic match.

Re: Pow R. Toc H.

Yeah, I just got through listening to it. My favorite song would probably be either Flaming, or Bike. Both in my opinion are great songs. Syd has great talent.
