Dave Played & Sang At Wembley Tonight

So first pic from the Strat Pack concert at Wembley. Dave evidently played and sang a few number... "Marooned", "Coming Back to Life" and "Sorrow".... Since "Coming Back to Life" is my favorite, I am kicking myself big time for not being there...

For the rehearsal pictures... go here to Getty.. you have to scroll down a bit for the Miller Strat Pack pictures.. and has a girl on the opening picture...

Here's the actual first and only pic I've got from the concert tonight... but it is a great one of David!!

Oo, nice.

Is that the #0001 Fender? Looks like it to me, but I haven't really seen any good pictures of that legendary Strat.

Yes, David was supposed to play the 0001. Nice picture, BDG looks in great shape.

As far as overall size, weight, hairline, appearance, etc.. Mr. Gilmour and myself are suprizingly similar...

Now if I could just play in his league..........(not a chance in hell)

I was there (long haied weirdo in the AHM shirt), me and a mate got there very early and heard Gilmour's souncheck in which he played the two he did on stage and CN. It was an amazing night a true tribute to th strat but if they hadn't have made us wait sooooooooooooooooo long for Gilmour, it was the first time I have ever seen him play live and it was nothing short of spectacular.

Yes, that is the strat #001. I understand it was having some problems, but David... the professional, manoeuverd it perfectly and never blinked an eye.

According to my folks, who attended the concert, Dave played Sorrow, Coming Back to Life and Great Day for Freedom, not Marooned as stated by the thread starter. However, they are not to be trusted. Big Floyd fans they are, but my Dad referred to Coming Back to Life as 'Where were you?'.

I was at the gig on Friday. The seats I was given by the phone operator which I was told were in the centre close to the stage were right in the corner and at the back so I could hardly see the faces of those performing. Also the sound was terrible from where I was sitting.

Still it was worth it to see Sir David Gilmour as he was introduced. He played marooned followed by coming back to life, and then sorrow. He also played the jam at the end with the rest of the guests. He got the biigest cheer of the night as there were lots of PF fans around, and it had to be the highlight of the concert for me.

Otherwise the concert wasn't great as Jeff Beck didn't turn up (grr!) nor Bryan Adams or Johnny Marr but overall it was pretty good. Was filmed for a DVD release so I might get to see the show properly after all.

Is that Andy F-L in the background behind Dave? If so, I might just have to check this DVD out. If not, I probably will anyway! Dave does look fantastic, and a tour doesn't seem out of the question.

........

why didnt i hear about this

AHHHH i would give an arm and a leg to see gilmour, no matter where he is in the world.

My life goal is to see him perform. Would be even more special to see him play with that strat, and he is looking good for his age. He is singing coming back to life in that pic, u can tell just from the chord hes holding down, sad eh

For the lucky bastards that were there how did he sound? How did the solo's compare to pulse etc?

Cheers
Kris
