Re: Need Info on "The Wall" Session Musicians

having recently watched a video of the Wall concert from 8/9/80 (highly recommended btw), there are some great keyboard closeups early in the show- and the post above is correct, Wood plays the "elbows" (the repeated last note toward the end Another Brick 2 for example) while Rick plays the other parts, and plays them quite well. Rick also plays the piano at the beginning of "Thin Ice".

"Nobody Home" has always intrigued me. I don't think it is Rick on The Wall- for a few reasons, none of which I can substantiate-

1) the song was brought in late to the recording process, possibly by the time Rick had, for whatever reason you want to believe, had stopped contributing much to the project

2) the song contains lyrics that are alleged to take shots at Rick himself (i.e silver spoon on a chain - relating to possible cocaine use and grand piano to prob up my mortal remains). Roger alludes somewhere- I think it is in the Wall songbook, to having Rick in mind when he wrote some of the lyrics. Anyway, if it was a shot at Rick, it would be a bummer to play on the track for him

3) I read somewhere online- and again, this might have been hearsay- that Ezrin claimed to play piano on the track for the album.

As for the live show- that song comes when the band is walled off, so you can't see any of the musicians, so who knows who played it then?

The last version of the Pink Floyd Encyclopedia. I don't think everything is correct in that book, but I have no reason to believe Fitch is wrong di Blasi. I doubt it's Willie Wilson who plays the guitar track. Gilmour has referred to the classical guitar player as "a session player". I think he would've said "my good friend Willie" if it was Wilson who played on the track.

I thought you where the primary source for the Encyclopedia

It's a great book. I've never had any of the previous versions.
