Where'd the synths go??

I have been listening to a lot of rock for the past year or so. I was wondering how come many bands dont use synths anymore. I mean, they're so cool. They really helped fill in a lot of space, and they make cool effects and chords. How come rock today just completely forgot about them?

Don't know if you've noticed but it's not the 80's anymore.

all I ever hear are electronicly produced teenie-bopping whiners, hidings behind face paint and fake guitars, and eletric drums

Check out Keane. No guitars (except bass) and they are bloody awsome. Really. They are the 'shit'.

Keane wimped it up too much for me. Check out Coldplay and enjoy them for the first 3 weeks or so that you can stand them.

The New Deal--its like techno played the way its never been played before...played!

i was never a fan of techno but new deal makes some awesome music. its 3 guys, a drummer (acoustic drums, not electronic or programmed) a bassist and an awesome keyboard player. check out their album "gone gone gone". its really good stuff, they do some awesome things with keyboards.

also check out dreamtheater. they are like a new generations yes. they are all extremely talented musicians.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but Gary Numan was doing that, and far better, in 1979.
