See Emily Play

I think I just found my favorite Pre-Meddle Pink Floyd song.

1) The video is just...wow. Its so cheap, and it looks like they shot it while they were high. During the video, you see Roger yell something at Nick. Guess he was a control freak even this early in Floyd's life :/

2) The song is incredibly catchy, man.

3) Where was the video filmed?

4) What the hell is the song about? Emily tries, but misunderstands?

1) if you say so
2)I agree
3) have no idea
4) Her name escapes me, but she was a rich socialite who came to all the underground parties and got high and stuff but never really knew what it was all about--in other words, a poser

It's a brilliant song - less than three minutes long, but bursting with guitar fuzz, beautiful vocals and good playing.

My mother went to school with 'Emily', interestingly.

I actually heard See Emily Play on the radio the other day...They had mentioned playing a B-side from PF, but I figured it'd be something from WYWH or the Wall, or one of their latter albums. And then it started playing, and I was like, "No way. They're playing some really old and good PF." I must say that made my day.

I tend to think of "Paint Box" as being part of Relics. It's superior to its flipside "Apples and Oranges" anyway.

I like "Apples & Oranges" better. Still, it's not as good as "Point Me At The Sky"!
