I'm gonna be famous!!!!

Holy Crap.. what a turn of events today... Hopefully you guys will apperciate this..

There is a local musician of some note. He is a piano/keyboard player named Shane Vincent. I have known him for about three years, we have friends in common.

In previous discussions I have had with Shane we have both noted our love of classic rock music of the late 60's, 70's and 80's. Most of his music one would consider "New Age" or Jazz. I play mostly blues and rock, but we do have common ground and love classic rock.

He called me this afternoon and has asked me to provide the guitar on his next album, with some vocals as well. I was floored.. but it get's better...

He has about 5 original pieces for the disc, as he put it "an homage to classic rock of the 70's".. He wants to fill the rest of the album with covers of some of the finest classic rock... He e-mailed me a list of 15 songs to look over, he says we will need to put 8 down to give him the volume he needs to fill the album (If we love 'em all , he'll do a double album)...

Yep.. I'm a studio mercenary now.. hehheh... He is hiring all members to contribute on an as needed basis, basically so he can maintain creative controll.. but hell.. I'm just fine with that. For what he's paying me, I just may have to go buy that Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 to play on this thing..

Bottomline is..Shanes CD's sell.. and sell well, he has a following out here and a record deal is in the near future for him.. being his main GTR on this dics may just be the thing that pushes me over the top...

that is awesome! I'm definitely buying one! As a pianist myself always trying to reinterpret the classics on the piano, It'd be nice to hear someone good do it! And to hear Fulghum rawk out......

I'd never leave here.. It'd be like leaving family behind.. (albeit disfunctional)..

We don't even get into the studio untill Nov. 15th.. then who knows how long recording/production will take. I'll post another thread when discs are available (I'd guess spring of '05) and take orders then.
