| Re: Weblogs: Cool, or pieces of Shit? Pinkmoney: I can understand that. Reading about how cute someone's cat is supposed to be gets pretty old... On the other hand, the kind of blogs I'm thinking of are quite different. One I read regularly is put out by a UCLA law professor, and he does some very interesting analyses of current legal issues and trends. He's certainly qualified to talk about those things, and I don't have to pay UC's extortionate tuition fees to find out what he thinks. There are blogs run by some journalists, as well. These tend to support their day jobs, but allow them direct feedback from readers and also allow them a bit more freedom than they can publish in the paper. I find some of these to be informative. What I'm getting at is that the paradigm is changing - it's not just gossip anymore, and it's beginning to have real effects in the real world. Strat: I think Lileks is great - I'd love to be able to write like that guy.
