Gilmour and his Scales

Can you name all the scales gilmour has used. So far i for sure know he has used
Major Pent, Minor Pent, Harmonic Minor, and Blues scales. Any more i dont know about?

That's about it.....as far as i know. Most of the floyd solos I know are one of those.

Sometimes he uses regular major/minor scales and arpeggios.

I think Time and CN are in the same Key not sure though...I impro from one to the next when bored.

I believe that CN is in B (or something), while Time is in F#.
Or something... I'm not good on keys...

CN is played in B Minor Pentatonic.

Time is F# Minor pentatonic.

Yeah, I suppose you could say he does... he adds some passing notes which *could* make it a blues scale.

Probably. In fact in Dorian is just pentatonic with a couple of more notes. Not that im an expert, I just think thats it.

His solos in "Dogs" employ a jazz scale that is reminiscent of both major and minor scales. Because of the chord progression it's difficult to determine the exact scale he uses, but his solos are generally based on the scale of the song's key... in this case Dm

The first solo in CN is i think d major and the second it def. a b minor pentatonic as is money. time is f# minor pentatonic . abitw part 2 solo is a d minor pentatonic so is echoes. coming back to life is A minor pentatonic. thats about all i know. does anyone know what scale sorrow is in
