The piano part between "I got a strong urge to fly" and "but I got nowhere to fly to"

Re: Favorite 5 seconds in a Pink Floyd song(s)

I'll try to stick with the intended format..although just doing 5 seconds can be difficult on some of the songs.

The Gunners Dream 1:59-2:04 when roger says "hold on the dream" and his voice blends in with the sax perfectly

Sheep 8:06-8:11 when the guitar changes at the end of the song..the transition takes you by suprise but sounds great

If 1:12-1:17 the little drill sound you hear when Roger is saying "...please don't put your wires in my brain"

Money 0:10-0:15 when the bass first kicks in during the "money" sounds. I'm really sick of that song but I remember how clever I thought it was the first time I heard it.

One of These Days 3:42-3:47 right after Nick Mason says his dialogue part and all the instruments chime in at once and start to jam again.

Re: Favorite 5 seconds in a Pink Floyd song(s)

Here are my thoughts - mostly 'Gilmour moments' although Roger gets a shout out, too:

Yet Another Movie: 4:10 - 4:15. BDG's best guitar solo ever (well...right up there with Pompeii Echoes)

Comfy Numb (DSOT version): 7:37 - 7:42. Gives me chills

SOYCD: 7:35 - 7:40. This whole song is one collection of 5 second masterpieces, but I picked my favorite.

Near The End: 4:42 - 4:47. When BDG brings in his electric guitar and hits that high note - more chills.

Sheep: 7:10 - 7:15. Pure brilliance in the lyrics

Dogs: 6:18 - 6:23. This whole section is some of BDG's finest work.

Re: Favorite 5 seconds in a Pink Floyd song(s)

It's so many moments, but the transition between "Speak To Me" and "Breathe" is the first sign of an album with pure magic.

So True....
My choice from that masterpiece would be between 8:22 and 8:27..... pure beauty (I guess you think the same as I do, that in the concert version they skipped that last solo and it's a crime!)
Also the transition between Any Colour You Like and Brain Damage, and Brain damage and eclipse (but I always considere them to be one song only)
