But then I found out that it was used by Rick's permission. So we can't complain. As Dave once said - it's Rick's business ! But I was shocked seeing it firstly ![]()

FW, I am talking about the ad for medicine tablets NUROFEN, which used Great Gig In The Sky as a background music.

Pain relief. To be honest, the advert's quite artistic and there's nothing really wrong with the thing. 'Infamous' is a strange tag to apply to it. As I understand it, the music was actually re-recorded for the advert and not the original version from DSotM. After the initial run, the music was replaced by 'Etude' from the 'Killing Fields' OST by Mike Oldfield, hence the accompanying text and was released as a single to cash in on the exposure afforded it by the unbiquity of the ad, which was screened throughout Europe during 1990. The picture below is the second (closing) part of the advert, where the song itself is about 2.30 in, whereas in the first part, the 'face' has the appearance of pain and distress and is accompanied by the most frenzied part of the track, say about 1.38 onwards. That's your lot. It's certainly more thoughtful and arresting than the majority of the hyperfreneticcolourblips that assault our senses these days.
