i do like punk music, but 9 times out of ten these days when you're asked that, people mean blink 182.

Screamo is a genre entirely separate from emo. Also, tight clothes and patches are still quite owned by punk.

Stooges, Ramones, The Clash, Dead Kennedys, Tubeway Army, NOFX, Green Day & others = good bands. For the most part however, this genre is clogged with vapid, self-contradictory and bland garbage.
