Ashley Simpson caught lip synching on SNL

Ashley Simpson was on SNL last night to perform 2 songs. The first song she lip synched a performance without a hitch, but the second time she got busted big time!

She goes to perform the second song but the tape they were playing was of the first song! It totally caught her off guard so she starts looking around helplessly and then just starts dancing like an idiot. She looks around some more and then dances again like an idiot before walking off stage. Meanwhile her band kept playing on and you can totally see the bass playing smirking at the whole thing before SNL went to a commercial break.

It is the most hilarious thing I have ever seen! I'm so tired of these no-talent music frauds.

Apparently they performed the right song after they came back from commercial and she had the nerve to blame her band for the mistake.

She's an idiot. She said she would never lip synch because it's not her. But yet, she goes and lip-synchs. The only reason why she has a music contract is because of her sister Jessica.

Additionally, I wouldn't generalize that she lip-synchs all the time. Famous performers will mime to newly recorded performances if the performance is being broadcast live, to decrease the possibility of screwing up on live TV. (The Beatles did it with 'All You Need is Love' and it also happens sometimes on awards shows, such as the ones hosted by MTV.)

Of course, I would also say that if you're a top-selling artist, that you should be rehearsed enough to play on live TV without thinking of screwing up.

Still, pretty funny. The footage of Milli Vanilli getting caught lip-synching live in concert is both hilarious and kinda terrifying to watch.

The Milli Vanilli incident is horrifying. Just listening to that part of the song repeat itself over and over...

Not only nationally live on MTV, but also in front of a capacity crowd of your screaming fans. I get embarrassed watching it.

I always suspected that she lip synched live, considering how long it took her to record the vocals for the album, because yes, I watched her show because it was hilarious watching her trying to be punk.
I thoroughly enjoyed how she crawled off like a wounded animal after her jig-of-creative-death.

Come on, admit, you thought she was hot...
