DB sounds like King Crimson a lot??

To me the influence of latter King Crimson is very easily seen on The Division Bell and this is very much of a good thing. Though Floyd weren't strangers to that dense and layered type of sound the seem like they were inspired maybe by KC to be as ambitious as possible and not strip down their sound to conform with what was happening at the time with rock music. It feels like more of a return to true Progressive Rock and without Roger they were able to pursue a more mellow mood closer to something like Meddle (except all grown up).

Re: DB sounds like King Crimson a lot??

there are some comparisons I suppose, in some of the instrumental passages & the production at least anyway;

I do think that ' power to believe ' is one of the best prog-rock albums I've heard since tDB came out over a decade ago...
