I thought P.U.L.S.E was just that - a pulse, there's a pulsing sound at the beginning of the second part of the show and there's that flashing LED on the side of the box set. dunno what the idea behind it though.

It's simply a reference to the heartbeat sound that introduces and concludes the Dark Side of the Moon (which is obviously the centerpiece of the set). I personally don't think it should be spelled out as "P.U.L.S.E." and don't know why people do that to begin with. I think the spine of the booklet has it printed "p•u•l•s•e," but that's just a design choice. It's "Pulse" dammit.

Storm Thorgerson gives his interpretation in "The Images Of Pink Floyd". But I can't remember what it is. I'm sure that "lights & sound experience" is the latter part, although. Slightly on the, Mark

Re: P.U.L.S.E. I visited a friend of mine last week and his red light is still blinking. He has switched batteries a few times. I tried to switch mine many years ago, but destroyed the cover instead.
