Where do you guys practice? Im getting really fed up here. I have this guest house in my back yard where we usually play, but its really close to my neighbors house, and though Ive never gotten complaints, I think they are just being kind of nice seeing as I can hear instruments from my own house which is farther from the guest house than our neighbors. And my parents are always telling us to turn down. The thing that really pisses me off is my dad is a dentist and has his own office, and the whole complex where he works closes at 6pm. Weve been dieing to play there so we can play as loud as we want without pissing people off, but my dad is a jerk and thinks we will mess something up.

I used to jam in a haunted opera house from the late 1800's that a group called the oddfellows used to have meeting in. We have had a ton of strange encounters up there, but it set the mood for what we played. Doors opening and closing on there own, footsteps, voices, lights flashing on/off, cold spots, and occasionally seeing people standing at the end of the hall then disappearing. It was absolutely crazy, but we don't have persmission to jam there anymore, because the local pigs thought we shouldn't be able to play past midnight and we'd jam all night sometimes.

Upstairs at my dad's business, where I work. It was a small apartment, but my dad used it for an office and then he let my brother, my friend Jon, and I rent it. It's got two rooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen. It's set up like a studio, with the smaller room being the control room and all that. It's a cozy place, a little small but better than getting to play one hour a day.

I just play in my room, or at my friend's house. We don't have any real setup other than our amps with electrics, or nothing with our acoustics.

For personal practice I just have my guitars set up in a corner of my basement. If the weather is nice, I'll play on my deck/patio. For the band practice, we have access (= shares rent) to a, well for lack of a better way to describe it, a barn. On the outside, it a barn, about three miles from my house, but the guy who owns it has finished it off inside. It's heated, air-conditioned, has about six rooms, a bathroom and kitchen. It's a big "playroom", for this guy. He's our drummers brother. We get together about once a week to jam and practice.. I keep my Crate there. It's nice.

If the appearance of the room doesn't matter cover all the walls, windows, and ceiling in egg packing foam. If you can't cover the windows still cover the walls and ceiling and it will reduce the sound. Its better to have a carpet than a hardwood floor; the thicker the carpet is the better

welcome to my WORLD, man. anywhere you can practice, practice. if you have to go somewhere new every time you practice, do it. if you have determination, you'll find a way. and if that doesnt work, just take some drugs.
